What is anemia?

Anemia is a condition in which the formation of red blood cells decreases. Red blood cells contain a special type of substance called hemoglobin, which carries oxygen to different parts of the body. This substance is made up of iron and protein. Lack of hemoglobin in the blood is actually called anemia. The life span(age) or life cycle of(RBC)red blood cells is about 120 days. If this deficiency is found in a person then his health problems are affected. This problem anemia is more common in women than in men. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 29% of adolescent girls worldwide, 33% of married but non-pregnant women and 38% of pregnant women are currently anemic. If we talk about Africa, Southeast Asia and the western regions of the Pacific Ocean, 90% of women here suffer from this deficiency. These results surprisingly shows the seriousness of this big problem.

Causes of Anemia

Causes include lack of vitamins, iron deficiency, bone loss or other diseases. In addition, the disease can be caused by smoking, weight gain or old age. Red blood cell depletion also leads to anemia. Many people's weak red blood cells burst with the slightest pressure. It could also be that one of the patient's parents is anemic or that an infection has caused germs to enter the body. In addition, toxic substances released from the body in liver or kidney disease can also cause anemia in the body.

The following symptoms of anemia usually appear.

Difficulty breathing or dizziness

The amount of iron in hemoglobin causes the blood to turn red, which is responsible for delivering oxygen to the body through the bloodstream. When the body does not get the right amount of oxygen, the result is difficulty in breathing and often dizziness or lightheadedness.

Yellow Skin

If the blood cells in the body are healthy and red then the skin looks healthy. Without iron or vitamin B12, not enough blood can reach the skin, causing it to turn yellow.

Chest pain

Lack of healthy red blood cells in the body causes the heart to work harder to supply blood to the body, resulting in faster heartbeat and chest pain.

Use only vegetables

According to a research, although the body gets adequate amount of iron from vegetables, this diet fails to supply vitamin B12, as a result of which the body becomes deficient in this vitamin which causes anemia.

Severe Fatigue

The most common and prominent symptom of anemia is a feeling of fatigue, according to research from the University of Chicago. According to research, the symptoms of this fatigue are manifested in different ways in people, some of them are very tired and this is also due to lack of iron or vitamin B12, which causes shortness of breath and dizziness.

Pregnancy or bleeding for any reason

Pregnant women are more likely to have anemia because their body needs more blood than usual for the baby to develop. Due to bleeding, it is possible that I have suffered from anemia.

Headache complaint

When there is a lack of iron in the body, it tries to give priority to the brain over other tissues, but even then the amount of oxygen is not adequate, as a result of which the cerebral arteries become inflamed and headaches occur all the time. The complaint seems to remain.

Irregular heartbeat

If there is a lack of blood in the body, the heart has to work harder to supply oxygen, which results in irregular heartbeat. If this happens often, you should see a doctor, as this can lead to heart disease for a long time. If there is a severe lack of blood in the body, then blood transfusion is required. Failure to do so may result in heart failure, which in medical parlance is called anemic heart failure.

Hands and feet stay cool

Red blood cells need iron for oxygen in the blood and its deficiency affects the circulatory system, causing the body to feel colder than usual and causing changes in the blood circulation. Are. This feeling can also occur in summer and as a result the affected person gradually develops anemia.
