Diabetes its types and treatment

First of all we should know what is diabetes? Diabetes is a metabolic disease in which the body fails to use glucose for its energy. The body does not get as much energy from food as it needs. This is because the body does not make enough insulin or the insulin produced does not work properly. Insulin is an essential hormone, which provides sugar to our body cells from food. The body's cells begin to absorb sugar. Sometimes the body's cells do not work together with insulin, which is the cause of diabetes.

Importance of insulin

In diabetes, the hormone stops making insulin or insulin does not work properly.A hormone is mainly a chemical that works as a messenger and travels from one part of the body to another to give results by reacting on targeted cells, tissues and body organs. Only because of insulin, the sugar in the diet can be used to build strength in the body. Without insulin, cells would not be able to convert sugar into energy. Unused sugar enters the bloodstream, then passes out through the urine. Body temperature, muscle function, heart rate, breathing through the lungs, brain thinking, energy and strength are required for the formation and repair of millions of new cells.

Behind the stomach is an organ called pancreas. Inside the pancreas are special cells called beta cells that produce insulin. Beta cells(these are special type of cells that produce insulin) are mainly located in a part of our pancreas called the islets of Langerhans.

Types of diabetes

There are different types of diabetes, but type 1 diabetes is less common in children and adolescents. In type 1 diabetes, beta cells are destroyed and the body cannot make any insulin. Most young people have type 2 diabetes. In such type of diabetes, the pancreas does produce some insulin, but it is either not enough mean at low level production or not enough to maintain blood sugar levels because its main function is breakdown of glucose.

Treatment of type 1 diabetes

There is almost the same treatment for type 1 diabetes worldwide, and that is to use insulin several times a day or to use a pump that keeps the insulin flowing. In particular, plan to eat with extra medication at meal time. Exercise with more food and sometimes take less insulin. Blood sugar should be measured several times a day.

Treatment of type 2 diabetes

Type 2 diabetes can be handled or controlled with a healthy diet, sedentary life style , exercise, weight loss and medication. It is important to change your lifestyle to treat it it is the only best way to treat it. If the whole family adopts a healthy lifestyle for type 2 diabetes then the rest of the family is less likely to get diabetes as they too are close to the risk line. When both exercise and diet fail to control blood sugar levels, doctors prescribe pills, which help insulin work in the body. Some teens may need to get insulin injections. Still, a balanced diet, exercise and weight loss are important. These are the main pillars for type 2 diabetes.

The same amount of food is eaten three times, the same amount of food should be eaten five or six times because eating more food at one time increases sugar and decreases it due to longer interval between meals. If you eat after two or three hours, it will help in controlling the sugar and thus the stomach will not grow resulting in less obesity. This is a must have mean necessary, for any type II diabetes patient and for better health this should be followed by all type II diabetes patients strictly.

Note: Be sure to consult your physician when using the above foods or if there is any reaction that is causing you problems then consult your physician immediately.
