People who suffer from these diseases are more likely to suffer from kidney disorders, so they should continue to undergo medical check-ups as directed by the doctor because proper kidney function is essential for a healthy life. It is utmost essential(important) to work with.

 What is kidney stone?

Solid minerals that do not dissolve and accumulate in the kidney are called 'stones', which block the excretion of water from the body. These minerals usually consist of calcium oxalate, but may also contain other compounds. Four types of kidney stones (calcium oxalate, calcium phosphate, uric acid and cystine) are very common. Ultrasound and CT scan are recommended for their diagnosis.

The size of the stone can vary from person to person, you will be surprised to know that it can be as big as a golf ball or small enough to pass through urine. According to medical experts, if the stone size is up to 5 mm, it is naturally excreted through urine.

However, if the volume is more than this then lithotripsy or surgery is required. There are also two most common methods of  the surgery (open surgery and the endoscopy), and  in some of the cases  both methods are used while treatment. Kidney stones can occur in men and women, usually between the ages of 30 and 50. Once a stone is removed, there are chances of its recurrence.

The ureter(is appears like a tube) that carries urine from the kidney to the urinary bladder. A ureter is attached to each kidney. Its upper half is in the abdomen and the lower half is in the pelvis. A kidney stone is not detected until it has moved into the ureter.

If the stones remain for a long time, many complications can arise, even blocking the bladder. Common symptoms of kidney stones include burning in the urine, nausea and vomiting, pus or white blood cells in the urine, fever or chills due to infection, blood in the urine, severe pain(very high) in  kidneys or in the groin, urination. Decline and  the stalling are the top ones.

Kidney stone causes

Stones can be caused by many reasons, such as drinking less water, eating high-protein foods, and consuming too much salt. However, the main cause of kidney stones is drinking less water.

Due to less water, uric acid cannot be diluted and the urine becomes more acidic, if this acidity increases, then the chances of stone formation increase. People who drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day have a very low risk of developing kidney stones.

According to medical experts, long-term calcium and vitamin D supplements and some other medications, such as for migraines and epilepsy, can cause kidney stones. Other causes include an unbalanced diet (high in protein, fat and sodium but low in calcium), obesity, high blood pressure, gastric bypass surgery, inflammatory bowel disease or chronic diarrhea, and a sedentary lifestyle. Soft drinks can also cause gallstones.

 Precautions for Kidney stone

If a kidney stone occurs, you should immediately consult a specialist for its treatment. However, there are some precautions and beneficial foods that can prevent the formation of stones such as drinking more water.

If the color of the urine is yellow or brown, it is a sign that your body is not getting enough water. Apart from this, there are many foods that can help in keeping the disease away and in case of stones, they can be removed. The best of them is the bean, which is kidney-shaped.
